I have been using th TT program for about 4 months now and have found that I need to relisten to them often. My son, now 15 was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 5 and was put on stimulants at that time. Over the years school grades were ok until middle school, but behavior was dreadful. To be honest I was a single mom who had no idea how to parent my child and so I blamed myself, took on many bad pareting styles. This lead to nothing except a very bad 8th grade year (swearing, abuse, damaging things, failing classes etc. ) all this while on a stimulant. My son asked to see someone because he was so angry and could not contol it. We went to a neurospychologist who diagnosed him with adhd, depression, asbergers, and a math learning disability. This was at the end of school year, so we put him on antidepressants, which did not do much until we took him off stimulant for the summer. It was like he was a totally different kid. Now mind you the adhd was all pver the place, but the anger was gone. It made our house so much calmer except his impulsiveness. So off to HS, and with no stimulants. Of course teachers are complaining he is all over the place so I speak with Doc about stimulants, we give it another whirl and like a light switch- the anger returns. Now the Doc does not agree that it is the stim., but as his mom, would disagree. So I did agree to try a very small dose of stim (like what he was on when he was 5, and again the anger. My question is does anyone have any suggestions for another way to help kids with ADHD that respomd negativly with meds? The school is not complaining (yet) and he has an IEP with resource room. The TT helps in evening with getting him to be accountable for homework, although he tries to get out of it EVERY night. I am working on staying consistant. But I worry about his impulsiveness, esp. since he struggles in the classroom and also that he has got into fight. He also asked to take drivers ed. I can hold that off for a while because his grades are poor, but at some point he may want to drive and that is very scary. Any ideas?

That website is very good. Nutritutional solutions are key to much of ADHD resolution.

Have you reviewed the Focus Factor? https://store.empoweringparents.com/
Here are 13 different article about ADHD

I agree that meds are not the answer. Everyone must learn to be accountable for their behavior. Living with ADHD is a lifetime. Learning to manage it as a youth will serve your son throughout his life.
