We have decided to take control back from our son. We have read the Total Transformation Program completely, have decided on the consequences and rewards we will use, but we just don't know what the very first step should be. We both realize it will get harder before it gets easier, but we're also not sure how to get over the first few days. Any suggestions from successful parents would be greatly appreciatd.

Not knowing the dynamics of your family, I can only say that the first step I took was, "Stop it don't talk to me like that".

I kept CDs in the car, the office, I reviewed (still do) Lehman's work daily.
I practiced in front of the mirror being neutral.
I stopped myself from reacting the same way the child was, instead replaced it with calm response.

What do you see as your biggest challenge? What makes it difficult to begin?
