    good info

I purchased this program out of concern for grown family members making poor choices when it comes to alcohol use or abuse. Since they don't live with me, I can't be sure of the results, however, the program did give me guidance on closing the bank.

    Helping Others

Kim has done an excellent job communicating with honesty her experiences and helping others to set boundaries in their lives. Her realistic approach to face the possible realities in real life situations has helped to bring peace and even joy in the midst of a storm. She keeps it real and helps you More to see that it is possible to overcome worry in the unwise choices that our loved ones make. With Christ and the help of these CD's I'm believing in a miracle in my family. Thank you Kim!

Your Loved One's Dependency is Not Your Fault

As a professional counselor, I was looking for a program to share with my families to use at home. I try to incorporate education and self-sustaining support whenever possible in my work with clients. This program is excellent for explaining, reassuring, and acting as go to reminder for people to use More when a professional counselor is not at hand. I have recommended it to many parents since purchasing it and will continue to do so in the future.

    Peaceful confidence

I purchased the program out of desperation. I felt hopeless and a great sense of loss for someone I loved so dearly. It is truly painful to see someone you love struggle and turn on you in their darkness. I also went from feeling I somehow did something wrong to bring it on. After going through the program More I see things so differently. The program empowered me and allowed me to make sense of a horrible situation. I also realized that I have a new sense of meaning to my life and am liberated! It still feels sad to see my loved one struggle and I pray he will someday see his own light. But at least I am someone again! Thank you and I am so grateful for your insight. I asked the universe and God and then you showed up! Wow!

    Clarity and Resolve

Our 16 yr old son is a habitual pot smoker who has been breaking all the house rules. I've tried to "fix" our son but I now realize that you can't force someone who has an addiction to stop. They need to experience the hard realities of their addiction before they will seak help. This CD set helped More us to understand this point and provided us great resolve. We now know that we can set bounderies and let go of trying to fix our son. He now has to take care of himself without our financial help. We do have difficulties however because of our legal responsibilities. It is difficult to set ultimatums when we know that he needs to be home not on the streets. This point was not covered enough in my opinion. We could use some recommendations of how to set limits with a minor who refused to follow rules even when all of his privelages have been removed etc.

Q: My child struggles with substance abuse. Can this program help, even if my child is underage?

A: A struggle with substance abuse and addiction is not something most parents envision for their child. When your child is a minor, there are additional considerations that must be taken into account. Life Over The Influence includes a guide of rights and responsibilities for parents of minor children, which outlines how you can best help your child through this struggle.

Q: I have been to Alcoholics Anonymous and counseling. How is this program different?

A: Kimberly Abraham developed the program out of her own experience in dealing with many family members’ substance use-her father, her sister, her husband, and her son. Counseling, Alcoholics Anonymous and other forms of support can be very helpful when your loved one is using substances. Kim used many of these resources on her own journey as well. She found that these resources didn’t always address some of the issues for which she was seeking assistance. This program is designed to help you feel more empowered when addressing your loved one’s substance abuse, in the privacy of your home and at your own pace.

Q: Should I have my loved one listen to the program too?

A: This program is designed for you to use, so you can start to take back control of your life despite your loved one’s struggle with substance use. The techniques are not designed to address substance use directly, rather to empower those who are impacted by others’ substance use.
